Act 1, Scene 6: ‘Getting To Know You’ -The King and I

Now, as exam/essay stress is calming down, we can FINALLY begin our crazy rehearsal period. As our cast are not always Bristol based, we organised a meet and greet weekend. Not only was this filled with the standard warm ups, script read through and lots (and we do mean lots) of introductory games, but our main aim of this weekend was as a chance for our lovely cast to all begin to get to know each other – both onstage as the characters and off! For example, we spent quite some time working specifically with Ben and Harvey, playing Jeff and Hunter respectively, because their characters relationship is so close. After all, they’ve spent the best part of their lives working together, trying to find their creative voices.

We then rounded the afternoon off with pizza (what else?) and a long evening chatting away, safe to say that the weekend has left us extremely excited to get the ground properly running in our intense rehearsal period in July.
