Act 1, Scene 4: 'Stick To Your Story, It’s A Good Story' – Sunset Boulevard

So, as we have now officially hit the THREE MONTH countdown (can you sense my excitement?) we thought we'd introduce you properly to the wonderful '[title of show]' and who better to describe it than the writers themselves?

‘At its heart, this is a show about four friends. It’s about how friendships are tested and changed when life happens, when new opportunities are revealed. It’s about not being afraid to dream out loud and killing Vampires. It’s about risk and learning to be true to yourself and to your friends…your chosen family’ – Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell

‘[title of show]’ follows the challenges and triumphs of four nobodies in New York on their hilarious quest for Broadway, acceptance and a spot on Ellen DeGeneres’ couch! It is a musical about friendship, risks and the importance of learning to be true to both yourself and your dreams – however scary that may seem. Filled with diva riff offs, talking notepads, monkeys riding speedboats (yes, you are reading correctly!) and a jealous onstage pianist… what could possibly go wrong? ‘[title of show]’ is an eccentric, witty and self-aware show about the process of creating a show. The characters’ extensive knowledge of musical theatre creates a unique style where the show is unafraid to mimic itself, its predecessors and popular culture. ‘[title of show]’ is one of the rare musicals (extremely rare, aka one in approximately a million) where you can expect references from ‘Rent’ to Aerosmith to Marvin Gaye, and knowingly perceptive songs such as ‘What If This Show Won a Tony Award?’ and ‘I am Playing Me’. There's more, but I don't to spoil all the surprises for you.
